Alpha now heading to Louisiana Derby// Bullets for Mark Valeski and Creative Cause// Motion high on Went the Day Well

What was once the Wood Memorial, then the Florida Derby, then back to the Wood is now neither.  Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin has decided to send Alpha to the Fair Grounds for the Louisiana Derby (G2) citing shipping time, spacing, and the fact he can get a top rider- Julien Leparoux// Mark Valeski turned in a bullet move at the Fair Grounds in preparation for the Louisiana Derby.  Larry Jones was pleased with both the work and Mark Valeski’s apparent loss of fat// Graham Motion thinks highly of Went the Day Well, a maiden winner trying get in the Derby picture with a win in Saturday’s Spiral Stakes (G3) at Turfway.  Motion also denied that State of Play would be entered, stating he thinks the colt is more suited to turf// Creative Cause worked a bullet at Hollywood Park.  That move was not well publicized for the colt who is among the top 5 Derby contenders in most polls// Trainer Allen Milligan hopes Jake Mo stays closer the pace in his next start in the Arkansas Derby (G1).  The colt currently sits at #35 on the Graded Earnings list and needs a good showing to make the Kentucky Derby// more…
