Although Itsmyluckyday won the Holy Bull (G3) in track record fashion and was installed as the 2-1 favorite in Saturday’s Florida Derby (G1), headlines were dominated by Shanghai Bobby and his second consecutive draw on the rail. It’s a real indicator that everything we love to experience in and around the Derby- morning workout reports, betting strategies and debates, owner/trainer/jockey drama, post position draw, the walkover, and eventual opening of the 20-horse gates- will all be here before you know it.
